Slamming It! is a national programme of writing, performance and spoken word workshops and live events for young people 10-18yrs. At the heart of Slamming It! is the Scottish Youth Poetry Slam where young people from across the country compete for the title of Scottish Youth Slam Master. We are currently developing plans for the 2024/5 programme.

Scottish Youth Poetry Slam 2022

Scottish Youth Poetry Slam 2022 (SYPS) worked with young people 11-13yrs from six groups from across the country to create poems and develop performance/presentation skills through eight hours of workshops. The young people performed their work at, the very good natured, Scottish Youth Poetry Slam event in front of for 200+ young people in Perth Theatre October 2022. Competing groups were: Cornton Primary School, Stirling; Hillhead Primary School, Glasgow; Moniaive Young Theatre Makers Workshop, Moniaive; Findochty Primary School, Buckie; St Ninian's Primary, Perth; Hermitage Primary School, Helensburgh.
