Slamming It!


Slamming It! 2022 is a national virtual writing group for young people 14-18yrs, and a programme of workshops for young people 11-13yrs leading to the Scottish Youth Poetry Slam 2022.

Scottish Youth Poetry Slam Writing Group works with young people 14-18yrs, to participate in monthly online writing workshops leading towards the development and release of a Spoken Word Album with a hybrid launch event in November 2022. Scottish Youth Poetry Slam 2022 (SYPS) we are working with young people 11-13yrs from six groups from across the country to create poems and develop performance/presentation skills through eight hours of workshops online and in-person. The young people then perform them their work at, the very good natured, Scottish Youth Poetry Slam event in front of for 200+ young people in Perth Theatre October 2022. Competing groups are: Cornton Primary School, Stirling; Hillhead Primary School, Glasgow; Moniaive Young Theatre Makers Workshop, Moniaive; Findochty Primary School, Buckie; St Ninian's Primary, Perth; Hermitage Primary School, Helensburgh.
